Where to Eat in London... Catford Constitutional Club
My sister moved to Catford last year and she was lucky enough to have this pub/restaurant on her doorstep, we took our grandparents here and they loved it as much as we did. My grandpa kept the staff amused with his witty comments and asking questions about the history of the place thankfully they didn’t seem to mind. After the first time here I suggested to my friends we go for a roast because they are amazing, and they too loved it here.
Honestly one of the best roasts in South London (for me anyways), pictured is the beef roastie but I’ve also tried the lamb and I think it truely depends on what you’re fancying on the day. Both are amazing and come with seasonal veggies and a huge yorkshire pudding! Dessert was a selection of ice creams and sorbets for us as it was a warm day. My sister is a vegetarian and highly rates the veggie roast!
As well as the delicious food, the selection of craft beer and real ciders… the interiors of the Constitutional are extremely photogenic. The building was abandoned for around 20 so years until being taken over by the Antic pub group (who own a selection of great pubs in South London). Fortunately they kept some of it’s original features, creating a unique style cosy pub for us all to enjoy. As well as the dining room, the toilets are pretty great too! They always have things going on here, such as a weekly pub quiz and comedy/film nights!
