When: September

where I stayed, where I ate and what I did…

This is where my two month trip around South East Asia began, I flew twelve hours to Singapore all on my own. Most certainly the bravest thing i’ve ever done (beats my solo Berlin trip back in April). I had always wanted to see Singapore so I’m really grateful I got to spend a day and night here. However I did struggle to find my way out of the airport and onto a train to my hotel. I didn’t feel like I tried to jam too much into my day, I casually walked around in the day taking everything in but at night time I got Grabs (SE Asia’s version of Uber very handy) and enjoyed talking to the drivers about life in Singapore.

Stay - The Great Madras

After a long flight I wanted to find somewhere comfortable and central to stay for the night and I found it. To see more of this beautiful hotel click here.

Eat - Common Man

After my twelve hour flight and no meals I was in desperate need for a hearty breakfast, I had seen these guys on Instagram and I knew this is the place I wanted to eat at first. Such a different spin on the classic breakfast… homemade beans, pesto tomatoes and little potato rostis were a perfect touch. This is where my two month ice coffee addiction started!

Eat - Brotherbird Mochi & Softserve co

Found this little street and I’m so glad I decided to walk down it, there was a couple outside sharing a desert of some sort and I knew I wanted one. I tried the salted gula melaka soft serve with toasted almonds and my gosh it was delicious, I don’t know when I’ll actually get another chance to have one of these but I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Eat - Bao Makers

Yes yes yes yes yesssss, I hadn’t planned a place for dinner as I thought i’d try and just go with the flow. I knew what I fancied so I googled bao buns in Singapore and this gorgeous place came up. I got super lucky I think, it had a perfect charm about it. I went for the chilli soft crab and the veggie! Devine!

Do - Haji Lane

Between the big skyscrapers are quirky little streets filled with some traditional shops, restaurants and bars. I enjoyed walking around this area and then I found the perfect spot to have a beer and people watch.

Do - Little India

Do - Gardens by the Bay

An obvious must see in Singapore, I walked around here at 9pm so unfortunately missed the light show however it was still beautiful!
